Virginia Crawford Snider

September 24, 1935 — January 17, 2014

Mrs. Virginia Crawford Snider, age 78 of LaFayette, GA, formerly of Calhoun, passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 following an extended illness. She was born in Gordon County on September 24, 1935, daughter of the late Virgil Roscoe Crawford and the late Nellie Mae Baugh Crawford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Frank Crawford and Hugh Crawford; and sisters, Lucille Akins, Sally Russo, and Madge Boswell.

Virginia was an avid reader, and enjoyed cooking, music, and watching TV. She was of the Church of God faith.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and Morris Flippen of Fairmount; two brothers, Billy Crawford and his wife Helen of Chatsworth, and Howard Crawford of Calhoun; a sister, Betty Crawford of Atlanta; a grandson, Matthew Flippen of Calhoun; and special care-giver, Sharon Shropshire. Nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Virginia Crawford Snider will be held Sunday, January 19th at 2:30 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. James Storm officiating. Music will be arranged by Terri Woody and Morris Flippen. Internment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Saturday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
