Wade Galmon

Mr. Wade Galmon, age 59 of Resaca, passed away Monday, April 28, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Gordon County on July 29, 1948, son of Willie Ross and Mandy Cudd Galmon. Mr. Galmon was employed by Shaw Industries, and was a veteran of the US Army, having served in Vietnam. He also served in the Georgia National Guard and Operation Desert Shield.

He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Ross Galmon, and a brother, Slagle Ross Galmon.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jane Powell Galmon; a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Selena Galmon of Calhoun; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Floyd Strickland of East Ridge, Tennessee; his mother, Mandy Cudd Galmon of Calhoun; brothers, Charles Galmon of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Billy Galmon of Calhoun; sisters, Edna Ray, Juanita Galmon, Louann Ward, Mandy Jo Robertson, and Madge Galmon, all of Calhoun. Six grandchildren, Kory Strickland, Shauna Strickland, Logan Strickland, Kenzie Walraven, Kyler Galmon, and Macy Wilbanks also survive.

Graveside services for Mr. Wade Galmon will be conducted Wednesday, April 30 at 11:00am from Gordon Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Jason Fuller officiating. Active pallbearers serving will include Ben Powell, Shane Grizzle, Sammy Grizzle, and Jason Galmon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday between the hours of 5:00pm and 9:00pm.
