Walter Lee Johnson

Mr. Walter Lee Johnson, 84, of Calhoun, died Thursday, June 15th, 2017. He was born in Guin, AL on November 1, 1932, son of the late Claude Johnson and Beulah Green Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Henry Frank Johnson and Walter Lee Johnson Jr.; his brothers, William Johnson and Robert Johnson; and sisters, Fanny Prater, Irene Page, and Bessie Brewer.
He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Margarette Stokes Johnson; a son, Ralph Stokes and his wife Gail; daughters, Peggy McGuire and Cindy Walston and her husband Randy; a brother, Paul Johnson and his wife Helen; sisters, Lucille Stafford Gordon and Evelyn Hamby; grandchildren, Randall McGuire, Scott & Pam McGuire, Haley & John Land, Dustin & Shannon Buchanan, Justin & Hannah Walston, Chris Johnson Keshia & Brian Pack, and Heather & Sean McKeehan; great grandchildren, Amanda Knight, Andrew and Kady McGuire, Austin McGuire, Logan McGuire, Jase McGuire, Alyssa OTinger, Madison Land, Gavin & Shyanne Buchanan, Caden and Kipp Walston, Katelynn, Jacie, and Konner Johnson, Aleah Halliday, Hayden Pack, and Taylor and Dylan McKeehan; and great-great granddaughter, Avaida McGuire.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 17th at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow at Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving are Scott McGuire, Johnny Land, Taylor McKeehan, Dylan McKeehan, Justin Walston, and Dustin Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers serving are Larry Wright, Danny Wright, Byron Brown, Konner Johnson, and Jimmy Prater.
The Johnson family will receive friends at the funeral home of Friday, June 16th from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
