Obituary
Walter "Walt" Clarence Brown III went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 79 years of age. He was born to the late Walter Clarence Brown Jr. and Mozelle Tarleton Brown on August 2, 1943. In addition to his parents, Walt is preceded in death by his late wife, Ann (Vineyard) Brown; mother of Paula, Scooter, and Stephen; brother, Don Brown Sr.; sisters, Estelle (Brown) Hutchins and Diane Brown; sons, Jacob and Joshua Brown. Before retirement, he was employed by Yellow Freight.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Black Brown, to whom he was married 31 years; brothers, James (Tubby) Brown (Bernice) and Wendell (Hotrod) Brown (Judy); sister, Donna (Brown) Headspeth (Keith); and Lisa Meredith, mother of Jacob, Caleb, and Joshua. He is also survived by his children, Walter (Scooter) Brown (Melynda), Stephen Brown (Jill), Caleb Brown (Robyn), Paula (Brown) Adams (Michael), Kristi Martin, Brandi (Martin) Smith (Dustin); grandchildren, Wayne Helms (Felicia), Nick Helms, Jenna (Helms) Ramey (Allen), Hannah (Brown) Taylor (Ashton), Rebekkah (Brown) Mathews (Dylan), Andrew Brown, Caroline Brown, Evan Brown, Matthew Jones, Letty Jane Brown, Trayse Cannon, Lucy Cannon, Kaleigh (Pelfrey) Bal (Trevor), Kyler Pelfrey, Tristin Smith (Kelsy), Tinsley (Smith) Bartley (Nic), Talyn Smith; great-grandchildren, Braelyn, Leila, and Andy Helms, Aeslyn and Oliver Taylor, Colt and River Mathews, Linc and Saylor Bal, and Hollins Bartley. Other survivors include many extended family members, such as, aunts, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Walt was a Godly man with a heart of gold, full of grace and humility. He loved unconditionally, an inspiration to all, and was loved by everyone who knew him. Walts love for his family was second to none, and his love knew no boundaries. He loved sharing the gospel of Jesus with everyone he knew.
In addition to loving people, Walt loved sports. He was an avid player, coach, and fan throughout his lifetime. He was a lifelong Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldog fan, and he was thrilled to see both teams won the championship in 2021.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 1:00 PM from NorthPointe Church, 30 Orchard Rd, Adairsville, GA 30103.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday at NorthPointe Church from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
