Mrs. Wanda Sue Burns, age 61 of Calhoun, died Friday, August 17, 2007 at the Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome following an extended illness.
Mrs. Burns was born on March 04, 1946 in Gordon County; daughter of the late Oliver Lewis and Rodella Hudgens Brown. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Morrow. During her lifetime she was employed in the textile industry, and was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church, where she attended the Ladies Circle.
Mrs. Burns is survived by her husband, William (W.C.) Burns to whom she was married for 22 years; five daughters; Robin Freeman and her husband, Randy; Brandy Price and her husband, Kenneth; Susan Burns, April Thacker and Brenda Gladney all of Calhoun; one son, Billy Burns and his wife, Teresa of Calhoun; two sisters; Sherri Chastain of Calhoun, and Maybell Pasley of Rockmart; one brother; Jerry Brown of Calhoun; and special friends; Richard and Sue Craig of Calhoun. Nineteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services for Mrs. Wanda Sue Burns will be conducted Monday at 12:00 noon from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Pace, Rev. Jamey Hunt, Rev. Tony Hall and Rev. Ed Pasley officiating. The family requests in lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in memory of Mrs. Wanda Sue Burns to the Riverview Baptist Church Building Fund. You may leave your contribution at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday during the hours of 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
