Wayne Ballard

Rev. Howard Wayne Ballard, age 70 of Calhoun died Saturday, July 27, 2013 at Gordon Hospital following a brief illness.

Rev. Ballard was born on March 30, 1943 in Cullman, AL, son of the late Daniel Lando and Celia Wilkie Ballard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Ballard.

He was an ordained minister and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Plainville. Rev. Ballard had been a sales representative for Globe Life & Accident Insurance Company for over 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Arlene Head Ballard of the residence; a daughter; Lisa Duvall and her husband Jeff of Resaca; a sister, Ann Kent of Homewood, AL: two brothers, Leon Ballard of Warrior, AL and Clyde Ballard of Gadsden, AL; and a grandson, Gage Loy. Several nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Rev. Howard Wayne Ballard will be conducted Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. David Ray officiating. Music will be arranged by Kathy Young and Amber Lee. Pallbearers serving will include Jeffrey Duvall, Gage Loy, Matt Pardue, Matt Jarrard, Sammy Wyatt, Todd Crisp, Ernie Keener, Lester Duvall, and Mike Jones. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park.

The Ballard family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Monday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
