Wayne Ralph Moore

Mr. Wayne Moore, age 71, a well known resident of Calhoun died Wednesday, February 11th, 2009 in Gordon Hospital after several months of declining health.

Mr. Moore was born in Gordon County, Georgia on October 19, 1937, son of the late Frank and Stella Mae Tate Moore. He was a farmer, a businessman, and most of all a dedicated husband, Dad and grandfather. His greatest enjoyment came from being with his family. Mr. Moore was a lifelong resident of Gordon County, and attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Patterson Moore to whom he was married for 52 years; two sons, Mickey Moore and his wife Sherri, and Russell Moore and his wife Sherry; three daughters, Sandra Moore Burt and her husband Lamar, Jodi Moore Crump and her husband Gerome, and Judi Moore Freeman and her husband Ricky, all of Calhoun. Grandchildren include, Mandi Pace, Jared Moore, Beth Henderson, Ben Freeman, Andrew Crump, Andrea Crump, Haley Housley, Hayden Housley, Holley and Hailey Moore, Cheyanne Burt and Clayton Burt. Great-grandchildren include Gage and Chase Potter, Max Moore, and Aden and Asher Pace.

Services to celebrate the life of Wayne Moore will be held Friday Morning at 11:00 A.M. from Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, with Rev. Bob Oesterle and Tommy Phillips officiating. Mrs. Katherine Quinn will have charge of the music. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery, with Rev. Jason Pace conducting the grave side service. Pallbearers serving include Lamar Burt, Ricky Freeman, Cody Henderson, Jared Moore, Gerome Crump and Hayden Housley. Honorary pallbearers serving include Joe O'Neal, Calvin Benton, Lamar Patterson, Jerry Childs and Mack Wright.

The Moore family will receive friends at Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home Thursday, between the hours of 5:00 P.M and 9:00 P.M.
