Wayne Trammell Talley

Mr. Wayne Trammell Talley, age 85 of Calhoun, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Calhoun Health Care Center following several years of declining health. He was a native of Gordon County, born to the late J.S. and Grace Fuller Talley on May 25, 1925. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a grandson, Zach Talley, and a sister, Bernice Janney.

During his lifetime, Mr. Talley was employed by Springs Industries as Traffic Manager. He was a member of the West Union Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Cleo Cochran Talley; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mitch and Cindy Talley, and Doug and Cathy Talley, both of Calhoun; a daughter, Debbie Talley Davis of Smiths, Alabama; a brother and sister-in-law, J.S. and Faye Talley of Calhoun; and grandchildren, David Davis, Cisse McMillan, Holli Hasty, Drake Talley, Sophia Talley, Jack Talley, and Christopher Talley. A number of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Wayne Trammell Talley will be conducted Thursday, March 3rd at 4:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Dr. Marvin Faile officiating. Interment will follow in the Fain Cemetery. Music will be arranged by Robert and Shirley King. Active pallbearers will include Donnie Everette, Drake Talley, Marvin Mashburn, Malcolm Talley, David Davis, and Christopher Talley. Honorary escort will be the staff of Calhoun Health Care Center.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm.
