Wilene Holden Parker

Mrs. Katherine Wilene Holden Parker, age 75 of Adairsville, GA., went to be with to be with her Lord Friday, November 29, 2013 at her residence following several years declining health.

Mrs. Parker was born July 21, 1938 in Gordon County, GA and was the daughter of the late Judson and Lillie Mae Blackstock Holden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roland Parker in 2010, a brother, Nelson Holden in 2005, and a sister, Geneva DeFoor and her husband Billie.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Owens Carpet. She was a member of the 1956 graduating class of Red Bud High School, and was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Wilene is survived by a step-son, Kevin Parker and his wife Sherry of Calhoun; two step- daughters, Rhonda Sumner and her husband Randy of Adairsville, and Kim Parker of Adairsville; a sister-in-law, Jean Holden of Resaca; four grandchildren, Chris and Chad Sumner, and Brandon and Dillon Parker; and five great-grandchildren, Abram, Maddie, Taylor, Brooklyn and Jax Sumner.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Wilene Holden Parker will be held Monday December 2nd. At 1:00 PM from Philadelphia Baptist Church, 358 Hensley Rd. SE, Calhoun, GA, with Rev. Tim McCulley and Rev. Steve Kirkpatrick officiating. Music will be arranged by Billy Christol and Bryan Blackstock. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers serving include Terry DeFoor, Joey DeFoor, Ricky Holden, Ryan Holden, Wayne Christol and Terry Talley. Honorary escorts will be Chris Sumner, Chad Sumner, Brandon Parker and Dillan Parker.

The family of Mrs. Wilene Holden Parker will receive friends Sunday, December 1st between the hours of 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
