Obituary

Mr. Will Hughes, 71, of Adairsville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022, following several weeks of declining health.
Will was born in Gordon County, Georgia on March 16, 1951, the son of the late John and Inez Turner Hughes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Stansell Hughes in 2015; siblings, Mary Holcombe, Viola Trammell, Cathy Holmes, Villamae Waters, Raymond Hughes, Johnny Hughes, Joanne Hughes, Betty Sue Hughes, and Robby Hughes.
Will from his younger day enjoyed building hot rods, dirt track racing, drag racing and restored all makes and models of tractors, and was an accomplished woodworker. He enjoyed spending time at his place on Weiss Lake with his friends.
Survivors include his daughter, Amanda Hughes Hawkins and her husband Randy of Adairsville; son, Tony Hughes of Calhoun; grandchildren, Josh (Holly) Hughes, Brooke Caudle, Jase Hughes, and Gracie and Shelby Amonett; great-grandchildren, Reagan Hughes, Karsyn Hughes, Brently Walden, Bella Caudle, Alexis Patterson; siblings, Nancy Brewer of Centre, AL., James (Jo) Hughes of Cedar Bluff, AL., Darlene (Leonard) Grizzell of Villanow, GA., Ronnie (Cathy) Hughes of Villanow, GA., Patsy (Bobby) Ashe of Crandell, GA and Tammy (Terry) Jones of Chatsworth, GA., along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, April 20th at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Goss and Rev. Gary Hibberts officiating. Interment will follow in Haven of Rest Memorial Park Cemetery. Active pallbearers serving include, Allan Hill, Eric Young, Tyler Hughes, Johnny Hughes (Lil Johnny)), Chase Hughes, Heath York; Honorary pallbearers include James Hughes (Bigun), James Hughes (Lil James), Randy McCoy, and Edward Ingram.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Will Hughes, 71, of Adairsville, GA.
