William "Bill" Burgee

William “Bill” Burgee, 68, of Adairsville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2024, after a long battle with throat cancer. He was born in Denver, Colorado, on September 18, 1956, to the late Thomas PearceBurgee and Nancy Lynne Shircliff. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, John F. Davey.

Before his retirement, Bill worked on drills for Sandvik Mining &Construction for 25 years and then became the founder of Rustic IronKnives, making custom knives during his retirement. Bill also held a real estate license working with Response Realty. He was an avid fan of Bigfoot and attended many Bigfoot conferences and knife shows.

Bill is survived by his wife & caregiver of 23 years, Lisa Vinson Burgee; sons, William Travis Burgee (Emilee) and Zachary Sutton-Zickafoose(Braden); daughters, Bethany Burgee-Brown (Larry Jr.) and AmberLumpkin (Charlie); brother, Tom Burgee (Tina); sisters, Deborah Giordano(Robert) and Bridget Weatherstine; grandchildren, Oliver Lumpkin, NathanBurgee, Ellis Burgee, Larry Brown, Teagan Brown, Brianna Brown; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home

.Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery. Pallbearers are Zachary Sutton-Zickafoose, Tom Burgee, Travis Burgee, Charlie Lumpkin, Braden Sutton-Zickafoose, and Kevin Burgee.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Shelly Richmond and Tapestry Hospice for their care.
