William "Bill" Cochran

Mr. William E. “Bill” Cochran, 89, of Acworth, Georgia, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at WellStar Kennestone in Marietta after a brief illness.

Bill was born in Gordon County, Georgia, on January 26, 1935. He was the son of the late Clarence Elmo Cochran and Kate Bailey Cochran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Willene Brannon Cochran, to whom he was married for 67 years, and by his granddaughter, Ansley Cochran. He loved his Lord, adored his family, and cherished his many friends. He always enjoyed telling a good clean joke. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a regional sales manager at Rexall Drug Company and Turtle Wax Incorporated.

Survivors include his daughter, Angela Tucker, and her husband Doy; son, Lamar Cochran, and his wife Donna; grandchildren, Robby (Katie) Burrell, Casey Cochran, Ashtyn (Chad) Smith; great-grandchildren, Clayton, Olivia, Gracelin and Colton Burrell, Emerson and Savanah Cochran, Knox, Mila Jane, and Zoey Grace Smith, along with other relatives.

The funeral will be conducted on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Lamar Cochran and Eddie Brannon officiating. Jordan Heltzel will arrange the music. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church cemetery, with military honors by the United States Army Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 3rd between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to “The Ansley Foundation.” The foundation was established in memory of Bill’s granddaughter to fund research, diagnosis, and treatment of childhood cancer. You can contribute online and learn more about the foundation at www.theansleyfoundation.org.
