William Charles Carter

Mr. William Charles Carter, age 67 of Calhoun, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010 at Gordon Hospital. He was born on November 30, 1942, son of the late Buford and Ethel Lee Sheets Carter. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers, Jerry, Phillip, Kenneth, and Junior Carter.

After retiring from the United States Army, Mr. Carter was employed as a millwright, working with Ford Motor Company and General Electric.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Jennifer Carter; a daughter and son-in-law, Tonya and Scott Burnette, all of Sonoraville; a brother, Ricky Carter of Plainville; a sister, Gail Freeman of Bartow County; and grandchildren, Kirsten and Kayla Carter, and Ryan Burnette. A special aunt, Evelyn Carter, and a special friend, Vivian Brown also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. William Charles Carter will be conducted Tuesday at 11:30am from the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with full military honors. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Monday from 5:00pm until 9:00pm.
