Mr. William Henry Hamrick, age 75, of Ludville, died Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Kindred Hospital in Atlanta following an extended illness. He was born in Pickens County on July 3, 1932, son of the late Jim and Ollie Hales Hamrick. He was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Hamrick, and a brother, James Hamrick.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Arline Young Hamrick; one son, Larry Hamrick; two daughters, Annie Long and Lillie Watson, all of Ludville; a brother, Sammie Lee Shephard of Sonoraville; a sister, Leomia Young of Sonoraville; grandchildren; Christina Evans of Dalton, Amanda Stuart of Ballground, Jason Hamrick of Ludville; Kimberly Cochran of Calhoun, Sandy Smith of Ludville, and Lavelle Hamrick of Ludville. Eight great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. William Henry Hamrick will be conducted Friday, August 24, at 2:00pm from the Friendship Baptist Church in Ludville, with Rev. Bobby Timms officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Jason Hamrick, Scott Cochran, Raymond Young, Charles Smith, Chris Watson, and David Long. Mr. Hamrick will lie in state at the church from 1:00pm until the funeral hour of 2:00pm. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday after 6:00pm.
