Mr. William "Bill" Pierce, age 59, of Calhoun, passed away Friday, February 23, 2007 at Gordon Hospital following several months of declining health. He was born in Gordon County on June 21, 1947, son of the late James Richard and Lulabell Birch Hall. Mr. Pierce was self-employed as a pulpwooder and a roofer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Ann Pierce.
Survivors include a son; Ricky Joe Pierce, of Calhoun; a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Floyd, of Jackson, Georgia; grandchildren; Felicia and Brittany Pierce of Calhoun, Jonathan Davis of Resaca, Dylan Williams and Harley Floyd of Jackson; and a brother, James Richard Hall of Conyers, Georgia.
Funeral services for Mr. William "Bill" Pierce will be conducted at 1:00pm on Monday, February 26, 2007, from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmie Timms officiating. Interment will follow in the Harmony Church Cemetery in Dawnville. Active pallbearers will include Brian Hensley, Brian Welch, Ben Barton, Tony Tumlin, Cody Blankenship, and James Castle. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home on Monday at 12:15pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00am until the funeral hour of 1:00pm.
