William Roy Greenway

Mr. William Roy Greenway, age 92, of Calhoun, passed away Monday, October 29, 2007 at Gordon Hospital. He was born in Fairmount on July 6, 1915, son of the late John William and Mary Louise Long Greenway. Mr. Greenway served his country in the US Air Force, retiring in 1960. He was an avid golfer and a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Marion, Clarence, Sidney, Lawrence, Sim, and E.P Greenway; and by sisters, Ida Savage, Ina Bearden, Mildred Neal, Alice Greene, and Arie Arnold. Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. William Roy Greenway will be conducted Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 1:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Eddie Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in Fain Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include Richard Trimble, Roger Greenway, Craig Trimble, Larry Trimble, Lester Knight and Spencer Teague. These gentlemen are asked to meet at the funeral home Thursday at 12:30pm. The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Wednesday, between the hours of 4:00pm and 7:00pm.

The family requests flowers be omitted and contributions be made to Liberty Baptist Church or your favorite charity in his memory.
