Obituary

Mr. William S. "Cowboy" Daniel Sr., 93, of the New Town Community passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, April 3, 2020.
Mr. Daniel was born in Jesup, GA on May 1, 1926, son of the late John and Emma Channell Daniel, he was a long-time resident of Calhoun, having been employed for many years at OJay Mills and later retiring from Klopman Mills after 20 years of service. He enjoyed being outdoors working and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter; Joann Daniel Roberts, four sons; Jimmy Daniel, Charles Daniel, David Daniel, and Greg Daniel, three brothers; Thurman Daniel, Jesse James Daniel and Frank Daniel, three sisters; Gurthie Lee Hollis, Jessie Mae Carlton, and Nellie Parker.
Survivors include his wife, Inez Fisher Daniel, to whom he was married for over 70 years, sons; William S. Daniel Jr. and his wife Brenda, Thomas Daniel and his wife Tammy, Johnny Daniel and his wife Shelia all of Calhoun. His grandchildren; Lekitia Gentry, Timmy Daniel, Clifford Daniel, Donna Starr, Dina Weaver, Tony Roberts, Shane Roberts, Bradley Roberts, Haley Lock, and Emily Daniel, one sister, Mary Fisher, daughter-in-law, Sue Daniel, and son-in-law, Anthony Roberts, several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the funeral services will be private in accordance with federal, state and local guidelines. His interment will be in Gordon Memorial Gardens. There will be no public visitation. Honorary pallbearers will include his grandsons; Clifford Daniel, Timmy Daniel, Steven Gentry, Bradley Roberts, Shane Robert, and Tony Roberts.
