Mr. William Thomas Hobbs, Jr., age 55 of Plainville, GA died Thursday, October 29, 2015 at his home. He was born in Chicago, IL on June 6, 1960, and was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Fay Epps.
William lived most of his life in Gordon County, where he met his wife of 36 years, Joann Silvers Hobbs. He was employed with Shaw Industries, Plant DD, before becoming disabled in September of 2011. He attended Haven of Rest Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Joann Silvers Hobbs; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Kimberly Pugh of Adairsville; a daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Chris Newberry of Plainville; his mother, Rosella; brothers and sisters-in-law, Philip Varney, Carl and Tina Varney, all of Logan, WV, Kenneth and Bonnie Hobbs of Shannon, Jason and Kate Coraville of Orange County, TX, and Raymond McCoy, Jr. of Summerville; sisters and brother-in-law, Loretta Diaz of South Carolina, Carolyn Johnson of McComb, MS, and Rosie and Billy Silvers of Calhoun; grandchildren, Tyler Pugh and Macayla Clayton; and five step-grandchildren.
Services for Mr. William Thomas Hobbs, Jr. will be held Saturday, October 31st at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Jason Fuller officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10:00 AM until the service hour.
