Mr. Willie Lawrence Lyles, age 82 of Oakman, GA passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Murray County on May 21, 1929, son of the late Charlie and Frances Hagler Lyles. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Jane Lyles; a brother, Charles Ray Lyles; and three sisters, Shelba Jean Lyles, Mary Lyles, and Parlee Lyles.

Mr. Lyles was a veteran, serving his country in the US Army.

Survivors include a son, Michael Lyles of Chatsworth; three daughters, Teresa Ward of Oakman, Debby Davenport of Chatsworth, and Helen Hall of Cleveland, TN; two brothers, James Lyles and his wife Lynn of Chatsworth, and Egbert "Shorty" Lyles, also of Chatsworth; and three sisters, Edna Owens of Oakman, Inez Davenport of Chatsworth, and Geneva Payne and her husband Jerry of Chatsworth. Grandchildren surviving are Wendy (Andrew) Cleghorn of Dalton, Jennie (Jeremy) Perks of Chatsworth, Misty Patterson of California, Megan (Anthony) Martinez of California, Bobby Walsh of California, Melissa Hall, Melody Hall, Glenn Hall, Jr., Richard Hall, Steven Hall, and Eric Hall, all of Cleveland, TN. Great-grandchildren are Jackson and Elizabeth Cleghorn, Randy and Laura Perks, Trevor and Hunter Patterson, Justice Martinez, and Maddox Headricks.

Funeral services to honor the life of Mr. Willie Lawrence Lyles will be held Monday, April 16th at 2:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. David Criswell officiating. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will include Chuck Owens, Allen Lyles, David Davenport, Chris Davenport, Lawrence Lyles, and Randy Perks.

The Lyles family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Sunday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
