Willie "Earl" Wofford

Mr. Willie “Earl” Wofford, 67, of the Nance Springs Community, passed away July 15, 2024 at AdventHealth Gordon. 

He was born in Whitfield County, Georgia, on August 26, 1956, the son of the late John Herschel Wofford and Margaret Elizabeth Lumpkin Wofford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Logan Alexander Walden, and three brothers, James Wofford, Roy Wofford, and Ed Wofford. He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, and spending time with his family and friends. Before retirement, he worked for Cross Creek Farms in Ringgold, Georgia, where he enjoyed caring for the horses.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Devon Luffman Wofford; one daughter, Tina Wofford-Scoggins and her husband Shawn; two sons, Joshua Wofford and his wife Heather, and Jeffery Wofford; grandchildren, Avery (Jordan) McFalls, Austin (Shyanna) Walden, Tyler (Amber) Wofford, Devin Walden, Joshua (MaKayla) Wofford, James Wofford, Alex Walden, Nathan Walden, MaKay Pitts, Alexandra Wofford, Justyn Marsh, Jessica Knight and a special granddaughter, Lily Wofford; great-grandchildren, Madison & Brock McFalls, Paisley Walden and, Violet Wofford; sister, Margie Bohannon and her husband Dan; sister-in-law, Robin Wofford; his fur baby, “Lola”; and his feathered friends, along with nieces, nephews and other relatives. 

The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, July 18th, at 4:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the family lot at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Whitfield County. Pallbearers will include Avery McFalls, Tyler Wofford, Austin Walden, Joshua Wofford, Devin Walden, James Wofford, Brock McFalls, Alex Walden, and Nathan Walden.

The family of Willie “Earl” Wofford will receive friends on Thursday, July 18th, between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
