Worth Barnett Martin, 73, of Calhoun passed away on Sunday, April 20th, 2008 at his home in Calhoun.
He was born in Calhoun, GA., on August 15, 1934. He was the son of the late Hillias Worth Martin and the late Lillian Nelson Martin. An Army veteran, he married Ingeborg Bichl in Bad Aibling, West Germany on September 6, 1956.
He and his wife lived briefly in Smyrna, GA before moving back to Gordon County in 1960. Worth retired from Lockheed in Marietta in 2001.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Inge; three children, Michael Worth Martin and his partner, Dan Cameron, of Atlanta, Georgia, Katharina (Kitty) Martin Weaver and her husband Wayne Weaver of Calhoun and Carol Yvonne Martin of Atlanta, Georgia; one grandchild, Sarah Elizabeth Weaver of Calhoun, Georgia, his sister Yvonne Martin Dale and her husband Jim Dale of Waleska, Georgia, brother Hillias Jackson (Butch) Martin and his wife Marilla Stevens Martin of Demorest, Georgia, brother Michael David Martin and his wife Michelle of Bad Kreuznach, Germany, and brother James Felician Martin and his wife Bonnie of Roswell, Georgia. Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
The family is receiving friends at the home. No service will be held at this time.
