Yvonne Tate Dupree

Mrs. Yvonne Tate Dupree, age 75 of Cedartown, formerly of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Floyd Hospital. She was born in Chattanooga, TN on February 12, 1939, daughter of the late John and Claire Tate, and the mother who raised her, the late Benny Akins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Dupree; two infant children, Randall Harold Towe, and Wanda Yvonne Towe; three sisters, and a brother.

Mrs. Dupree loved the outdoors and working with flowers. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church in Rome.

She leaves behind a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Karen Towe of Resaca; a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Ronnie Saxon of Cedartown; a sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Ronald Fuquea of Calhoun; and grandchildren, Courtney Saxon, Jody Curtis, Sarah Curtis, and Josh Curtis.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Yvonne Tate Dupree will be held Friday, June 6th at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Cedartown. Pallbearers serving will include Derrick Towe, Ronnie Saxon, Ricky Towe, Jim Stevens, and David Collier.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Thursday, June 5th from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
